Time Out To The Bird Farm!

We took time out to have lunch and visit the local Bird Farm here in Rustenburg!  We got to see all kinds of animals besides the birds too!  We even got to see monkeys!!
We liked the beautiful Swans the best!

Not Enough Hands When You Need Them!!

Pictured here is Shannon Lennon and Samantha Ketchum with a bundle of love on each hip!!  Shannon Lennon is from Rustenburg and has just graduated University in Pretoria.  She is volunteering each Tuesday and Thursday mornings here at the Lighthouse!  She is a great blessing and we are so thankful for her love and care for the children!  Samantha is a nurse from the USA, volunteering and living here on the property with us until August!  We are so blessed by all the help that God brings our way for His children!  He always knows just what we need and who to send our way!  Thank You, girls for all the hours of care you give so freely!!

United Reform Church of Rustenburg Visits on Youth Day!

We were so very privileged to have the Woman's Group from the United Reform Churches here in Rustenburg visit us on National Youth Day!  There were 64 precious ladies that came to bless us and bring us donations of food, formula, toiletries and nappies for our children!  What a blessing!  The ladies were from nine of the United Reform churches in the area and they took their holiday to be with us and bless us with a devotion time and  prayer time over our children and staff.  We want to say a big Thank You to them for taking the time to come and bless us on National Youth Day!

It's Picnic Time!

Even though it is winter here and we have cold nights with frost on the ground, by lunch time we can go out and enjoy the sunshine!  You can see we are having our lunch outside enjoying the beautiful day that God has given to us to live for Him!

It's Beauty Parlor Time!

Samantha taking time for a manicure with one of our little princesses.  Oh what fun!

International School of Amsterdam Visits LCS!

The International School of Amsterdam students recently visited us and spent time helping us with our garden.  We keep a garden on our property so that we can provide fresh vegetables for the babies and toddlers!  Thank you to the students who helped us be able to put in our winter vegetables!

International School of Amsterdam Visits LCS!

The International School of Amsterdam brought a team of young people to come and experience South Africa.  They spent a day with us learning about the Lighthouse and helping us in our garden.  They also brought us beautiful blankets that have been knitted by the students in Amsterdam, Holland! We are so grateful for these blankets and jerseys that have been coming from this school for several years!

Samantha Ketchum Volunteers!!

Samantha Ketchum is pictured here with some of our children at the Lighthouse.  Sam (as we call her) is a nurse from Springfield, Illinois in the USA.  She has been working her last two summers in the Neo Natal wing of the University Hospital in Illinois and has come to help us in the care of our babies and toddlers for 2 1/2 months.  We are so grateful to God for sending her all the way to South Africa to be with us for this time!  The kids have fallen in love with her!

Fun at the Rustenburg Show!!

The older kids were give tickets to attend the Rustenburg Show!  What fun they had riding rides and taking in all the sights!  The Candy Floss was the best though!!
