Ben and Linda Betzer arrive in South Africa!
Ben and Linda Betzer, David's uncle and aunt, arrived here in South Africa on the 7th of Feb. They are from southern California, USA and have recently retired and have come to stay with us here at the Lighthouse for a month. They are spending their time feeding the babies, playing with the kids and working on refinishing our baby beds! We are so thankful for the sacrifice of time and energy that has been put forth and the finances that have made this possible!Ben And Linda Hard At Work!
Ben and Linda are hard at work refinishing our beds for the children here at the Lighthouse! The beds have not been refinished since we built them years ago. Thus the desperate need of sanding and painting over the scratches and of course teeth marks! ha! What a project this is as the beds are over 7 feet tall with drawers at the bottom and cabinets at the top! What a blessing to be able to have our beds look good as new!! A big Thank You to Ben and Linda and their hours of hard work for the babies and toddlers!
Jeff and Abby Hunt at Lighthouse!
Jeff and Abby Hunt are pictured here with some of the Lighthouse kids. Jeff and Abby are preparing to return to South Africa! We are so excited that God is bringing them back to be a part of our big family here at the Lighthouse. Please pray for them as they prepare and raise their budget to return to South Africa.
Old Friends Return!!
We had Jeff and Abby (Sauter) Hunt and Jeff's brother, Vern visit us here at the Lighthouse for 2 weeks in January! It was so great having them back in South Africa! Abby spent 2 years here working at Jackson's Ridge on their Children's Ministry Staff. Jeff worked with us for 2 years a few years back. Pictured here is some of their old friends. David, Daniel Betzer, Clemens van der Walt, Johannes, Catherine, Frank, Nomhle, Jeff, Abby, Job and Vern. Hope and Monty are in front.

We were privileged to have Professors and Business Students from Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri in the USA. David organized for them to go down into a LONMIN mine. Pictured here the team prepared and suited up to go into the mine. They were able to see first hand the mining process here in Rustenburg. Rustenburg mining is the largest area of mining platinum in the world. The team was a great blessing here at the Lighthouse as they spent time helping us work on the property and play with the children! Thank you to the Business students and Educators for giving of their time and finances to make this trip possible!!

We recently received some very special hand made jerseys from Marjorie Jones from the International School of Amsterdam. What a blessing for our children ! The jerseys will be greatly appreciated come winter time! Thank you to the students who knitted the squares to make up the jerseys for our children!
