New Laundry Facilities Provided By Eye For Others!!!!

We are so thankful to Eye For Others, a Missions Team from Holland that raised the money to buy the materials for our new laundry room!!  As you can imagine, on any given night at the Lighthouse there are 55 or more people staying and that means most of them are babies and  toddlers who need clean clothing and bedding each day!!  We are so grateful to get our new laundry facility underway!!  Our old one, you can see in the back ground, we have used for 7 years and was a wooden shed that we made in to a laundry room.. the floors were rotted out and just plain worn out.. So we praise the Lord for His provision through the team of Eye For Others providing this for the ministry of Lighthouse Children's Shelter!!

Construction Begins!!

Our new dorm rooms are being built!!  Eye for Others is a team from Holland that raised money to help the Lighthouse remodel our garage into a dormitory for volunteers coming from overseas!  Here you see the beginning stages of this project!

On Our Way To Church!!

Mama Elsie is pictures here with some of our kids all dressed up and ready for Sunday School!!  Mama Elsie is our precious Mom on the property.  We are so thankful God has brought her to the Lighthouse Children's Shelter!  Elsie Ncgobo has been with us for over 5 years and started out as a Volunteer coming and helping us care for the babies.  Elsie is also our Training Coordinator and trains all new Caregivers coming in to the Lighthouse.  Elsie has her own children that are grown and live in the Durban area but she is committed to the children in crisis and in need here at the Lighthouse.  We are so thankful for the sacrifices she has made to live here in Rustenburg at the Lighthouse and care for the children on a full time basis!  We could not give the quality care we give to these children if it were not for Mama Elsie!  When you think of us please remember Mama Elsie in prayer and ask God to strengthen her and equip her for the work of the ministry that God has called Mama Elsie to!  Thank You!

Sophie Zondo

This is Sophie Zondo, our Children's Coordinator.  Sophie has worked at Lighthouse Children's Shelter for over 5 years and we are so grateful to have her as a part of our Ministry Team!  She is the over seer of all the children's medical needs and charts.  She is the one to make sure that each of our children are vaccinated and on time with their medicines and check-ups.  She also makes sure that each child is having Occupational Therapy time each day and having the proper clothing and shoes to wear!   What a job she has!!  We are so grateful for the sacrifice she makes each day as she gives freely of herself to ensure the quality care of each child in need! She is pictured here with one of our little ones who is now with her new Mommy and Daddy! When you think of us please remember Sophie in your prayers that God will strengthen her and equip her as she cares for our children in need in South Africa.

Donation of Nappies from Charisma Church!!

We were so blessed to receive a large donation of nappies (diapers) from Charisma Church in Klerksdorp!  With 35 children under 6 years old you can imagine how many nappies we go through in one day!!!  We are so grateful for the provision from Pastor Read van Rensburg at Charisma Church!  Sarah Bosworth and Charity Corkins, two of our volunteers from Indiana, USA is pictured above sorting the nappies into sizes for our baby and toddler rooms!  We want to say a very big "thank you" and "God bless you" to all who made this possible!!

We even got to see an ostrich!!  And monkeys too!
We topped our time off with some ice cream!!  Yum yum!!
